Nicholas C. Burkholder

Nick Burkholder is the founder and President of TQM Global.  He has extensive financial and human resource management experience with organizations including the Johnson & Johnson Worldwide Family of Companies, CIGNA Corporation, and the Vanguard Group of Investment Companies.  As a consultant he used an engineering approach and performance blueprint to help organizations around the world to measurably optimize their performance.

Nick passionately advocates and supports knowledge, information, measurement and work-integrated learning initiatives.  A graduate of Lafayette College and a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources, Nick routinely speaks at conferences and writes about performance issues. He co-authored The Executive Career Guide for MBAs with Richard H. Beatty, edited On Staffing, Advice and Perspectives from HR Leaders and wrote Outsourcing, the Definitive View, Applications and Implications.  He also wrote Ultimate Performance: Measuring Human Resources at Work, with Scott Golas and Jeremy Shapiro. All were published by John Wiley and Sons. He is currently working on Everyone a Star and another book about performance blueprints.

Before beginning his business career, Nick was commissioned a Regular Army officer. While serving as Military Police Station Commander for Fort Huachuca, Arizona, Nick was cited by the Secretary of the Army for exceptional performance. He was also a member of a U.S. Department of Justice Task Force which addressed the assessment, selection, training and management of personnel for special operations. Other assignments included Platoon Leader and subsequently Operations Officer for a Special Response Unit, which reported directly to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
